	India: Punjab Govt Hospitals to Provide Free Emergency
	When 13 people on an average lose life every day in road accidents in Punjab and many more get injured, here is hope for many such injured and other emergency cases. The Punjab government will provide free health care for the first 24 hours of hospitalisation to all patients coming for emergency treatment to government hospitals from this week.\r\nAccording to sources in the health department, the government will provide free health care service, including surgical items and medicines available in hospitals, for the first 24 hours of hospitalisation.

	India: Mumbai Railway Stations to Get First-aid Clinics
	In an attempt to provide immediate medical service to victims of train accidents, railway authority has decided to start first-aid clinics on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis across major suburban stations in Mumbai and Thane.\r\nThese first-aid clinics will provide free of cost medical service and treatment across stations like Borivali, Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Vile Parle, Santacruz, Bandra, Dadar, Mumbai Central, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Thane, Kalyan, Kopar, Diva, Karjat and Kasara.

	India: Kerala to Get Marine Ambulances to Help Fishermen
	A long standing promise made by the Kerala government to the fishing community became a reality on Tuesday(August 18) as the authorities sanctioned Rs.6 crore to procure three marine ambulances. ‘These marine ambulances have become essential in the wake of numerous reports of our fishermen getting injured due to the vagaries of the rough sea and also due to accidents that occur in the middle of the sea,’ Fisheries Minister K Babu told the media.

	India: State-run Ambulances in Critical Care, Half of Fleet Broken Down in Gurgaon
	Gurgaon: Nine out of the 20 ambulances of the 2 city government hospitals are broken down and non-functional.\r\nThe need for ambulances is being felt all the more because of the recent shift of the maternity ward of Civil Hospital to the Sector 10 hospital. On many occasions, expectant mothers are required to be relocated to Civil Hospital as the Caesarean facility is not available in the Sector 10 hospital.

	India: First ever Ambulance Watch Tower Inaugurated in Mumbai
	Thane: The first ever ambulance watch tower in the state was inaugurated in the district by Yuva Sena Chief Aditya Thackeray here on August 30. The tower was inaugurated at the Vashi toll post by Aditya Thackeray, in the presence of Public Works Minister and Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde.\r\nIn his speech Aditya profusely thanked Shinde for readily accepting the suggestion made by him to set up a watch tower for ambulances and urged him to set up many more such towers in the state as well.
