Vietnam: Dong Nai Hospital to Use Helicopters for Emergencies


Dong Nai General Hospital in southern Dong Nai Province, currently under construction, will use helicopters to transport patients in emergencies under approval by the Government, the hospital’s leader said. Accordingly, the hospital will launch emergency services using helicopters in 2015, when the hospital begins operation, said Dr. Phan Huy Anh Vu, the hospital’s director. The new service will be intended for critical cases, in which the hospital will use planes to bring patients to the hospital or transport patients from the hospital to other hospitals in Vietnam or abroad at the request of patients or their relatives.

Vietnam: Emergency Medical Center Launched in HCMC


Ho Chi Minh City: Hua Ngoc Thuan, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, has just signed a decision to set up an emergency medical center in the City. The Emergency 115 Center, a state-run medical clinic, is located on 266 Ly Thuong Kiet Street in District 10 in Trung Vuong Hospital. The Center will co-ordinate emergency activities outside of hospitals in the City as well as provide first-aid to patients, take them to the nearest hospitals for further treatment and conduct medical research. Vietnam: Vietnam Bans Import of Second-Hand Equipment, including Medical Equipment


Hanoi: Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam began to ban the import of second-hand cell phones and laptops, as well as notebooks and subnotebooks, from February 18 Thursday, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Import of second-hand medical equipment such as ultrasound and electrocardiography machine, cardiopulmonary resuscitation device and tomography equipment controlled by computer are also banned.

Vietnam: HCMC to Have Three More Hospitals


The Prime Minister has just signalled to build three further large hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City which will be funded by the SME development fund.\r\nThe three projects are in a five large hospital investment package in the city, aiming to reduce the overload in hospitals in the southern economic hub.

Vietnam: Inauguration of Centre for Emergency Operations


The Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and Ambassador of the United States, Ted Hosius, attended on February 3 at the inauguration of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC - Emergency Operations Centre) in Vietnam.\r\nThe creation of this center is part of the implementation of the commitments made by Vietnam in the Global Health Security Program, said Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, after noting the great attention the government gives to prevention and the fight against epidemics.
