	Jammu: With an objective to further strengthen the ambulatory care services across the State, the Government has procured a fleet of 157 ambulances (136 with Basic Life Support and 21 with Critical Care support) involving a cost of Rs 20.36 crore for deployment in various health institutions and on strategic locations along the National Highway.\r\nMinister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat on 30 November handed over the keys of 3 Critical Care Ambulances and 136 Ambulances with Basic Life Support to the concerned authorities and flagged off these from Nagrota for onward destinations. 	India: Good Samaritans honoured
	Coimbatore: The GVK Emergency Management Research Institute, on Wednesday (30 November), honoured 27 people who saved lives by calling 108 ambulance service.\r\nThe GVK-EMRI, which operates ‘108’ ambulance service in public-private-partnership mode with the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, organised a function to felicitate ‘Good Samaritans’ who saw strangers in need of urgent medical help and called 108 (emergency response service) and 104 (health helpline) ambulance services.

	Chandigarh: A senior Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research doctor, who heads the department of orthopedics, has been elected to head the Asia Pacific region of the a global trauma organisation.\r\nMandeep Dhillon, Head, Department of Orthopaedic, PGI, has been elected the chairman, research, AO Trauma for the Asia pacific region. Dhillon is the country’s first orthopedic surgeon who has attained such position in the Global Organidation, AO Trauma.

	India: Rs 19.12 Crore Released for Equipment at Trauma Centres in 6 UP Districts
	Meerut: To purchase equipment for trauma centres in hospitals of as many as 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh, an amount of Rs 19.12 crore was recently released via a government order. Trauma centres are meant for treatment of specific injuries and high-end machines are required for the same. An amount for the same was released for Meerut as well.
