India: Centre Agrees to Two AIIMS Facilities in Jammu, Kashmir


Jammu and Kashmir will get two AIIMS-like facilities instead of one. Union Health Minister J P Nadda announced this on Thursday(July 30) after meeting a delegation from the region that has been on the boil over the earlier decision of the Central government to have an AIIMS-like institution in Srinagar and not Jammu.\r\n“Both the regions, Jammu & Srinagar, will be provided with AIIMS facilities and similar facilities (AIIMS) will be there in Srinagar & Jammu,” Nadda said after meeting the delegation, that included state BJP president and Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, state’s Deputy CM Nirmal Singh, J&K Healt

India: Bike Ambulances will Run in Mumbai Soon


Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is going to purchase bike ambulances on the lines of those operating in London to reach emergency sites quickly. The bikes are aimed at reducing ‘golden hours’ to ‘golden minutes’ to save patients. Health minister Deepak Sawant said that a pilot project for Mumbai would be launched, as bike ambulances will be more useful on crowded streets.

India: Air Ambulance to Fly Patient In and Out of Country from Bhopal


Bhopal: A chartered plane can be at your disposal at Bhopal airport within 2 hours of notice to fly a patient to a hospital of his choice in India or abroad.Air ambulance service has been operational for about three months now in state. Patients are flown under supervision of an MD doctor and two paramedics, informed Imperial Air representative at a press conference on Monday. \"Just a phone call and our state-of-the-art aircraft are ready to fly you out to the best of hospitals. Moreover, our fleet is fully equipped to accommodate all kinds of medical equipment easily and safely,\" he said.

India: Uttar Pradesh to Launch Bike Ambulance Soon


Lucknow: As strange as it sounds, motorcycle ambulance service may become a reality in Uttar Pradesh. A report submitted to the government highlights the difficulty a van faces in reaching the patient in congested areas and how crucial the first 10 minutes and the next one hour can be in reaching first aid. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is reportedly considering to launch bike ambulance in the state.

India: Helpline in Aid of Emergency Patients


Guwahati: In a move to bridge the health access gaps for emergency patients mostly from the rural areas in Assam, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has approved extension of the \'108 Mritunjoy Services\' for another 6 months.\r\n\'108 Mritunjoy Services\' in the state provided under a PPP framework with the government being the major partner has also been brought under Essential Services Maintenance Act, said a government release.
