	Pakistan: 1122 to Hire 800 Emergency Medical Technicians
	Lahore: Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 is launching Motorbike Ambulance Service at the Divisional Headquarters in Punjab very soon as approved by the Chief Minister Punjab. The recruitment for this new project is underway; about 800 emergency medical technicians in BPS-11 will be employed for which the written and physical tests of the eligible candidates have been conducted through National testing service (NTS).

	Lahore: The government’s failure to enforce the “one patient, one attendant policy” has wreaked havoc at the Lahore General Hospital.\r\nThe overwhelming number of attendants with patients has not only created hurdles for medical treatment, but also put the safety of medics and other staff in danger; it was learnt on 6 February. While matters have calmed down some at LGH, it has raised questions over order at the medical facility.

	Pakistan: Govt Asked to Set up Trauma Centres at District Level
	Peshawar: Pakistan Medical Association has asked the government to establish trauma centres at district level to provide prompt treatment to critically-injured people after terrorist activities.\r\nAddressing a meeting of the central councillors at Khyber Medical College on 26 February, PMA president Dr Mohammad Ashraf Nizami said that they were concerned over the recent wave of terrorism owing to which more than 100 people lost their lives and 400 sustained injuries during one week.

	Pakistan: Rescue 1122 to Deploy Extra Ambulances/Staff for PSL Final
	Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has said that the department will deploy extra ambulances and staff to provide emergency rescue & medical cover to the spectators of Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, on 5 March.\r\nHe was flanked by District Emergency Officer Lahore, Deputy Director Operations and other senior officers from headquarters, and Lahore, during his visit to Gaddafi Stadium to review overall emergency plan on 2 March.

	Pakistan: Training of Hospital Staff Begins
	Lahore: The training for capacity building of more than 58,000 staff currently working in 40 hospitals of the Punjab started on 6 March.\r\nUniversity of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan, and Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department, Ali Jan Khan, inaugurated the training programme at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), Sheikhupura.
