	Poonch: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Poonch Abdul Raheem distributed over 250 first-aid kits to drivers on National Highway in Poonch for use in the cases of emergency in the hilly sector. Raheem took the initiative to spread awareness among people of the need for such safety kits in times of emergency and accidents which takes place often in hilly areas.

	India: Health Minister Flags Off 5 Special Ambulances in a Bid to Improve Emergency Cardiac Care in Goa
	Panaji: The department of cardiology, Goa Medical College (GMC), will soon start training medical officers at primary and community health centres in the state under a programme focused on improving emergency care for patients suffering heart attacks in remote areas.Under the state-wide STElevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Programme, which will involve Goa Medical College, directorate of health services and EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) 108, early diagnosis and treatment of heart attack will be made available in remote areas to reduce the risk of heart failure, death and other complications arising from an attack.

	India: Mock Drills to Test Disaster-Readiness in Ahmedabad
	Ahmedabad: Mock drills were carried out by officials of National Disaster Management Teams across several districts — including Gandhinagar, Banaskatha, and Aravalli — on 16 March(Friday). In Ahmedabad itself, the mock drills were held in 5 areas. The areas included Ranip GSRTC bus stand, Shahibaug police line, Reliance mall in Shahibaug, Collector office and Ahmedabad International Airport.Except for the airport, there were other places where the medical emergency mock drills were also carried out. 	India: Ambulance Aggregator Service on the Cards in Kerala
	The government is planning to roll out an ambulance aggregator platform with GPS tracking facility as part of a project to improve emergency services and provide better trauma care for accident victims.Transport Minister AK Saseendran and Health Minister KK Shylaja told the Assembly on Tuesday (27 March) that efforts were on to impart specialised training for ambulance drivers and equip them for emergency medical assistance.

	India: HP CM Launches 108 Bike Ambulance Service
	Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday (2 April) launched 108 Bike Ambulance Service here by flagging off two Bike Ambulances, making the State, the first in Northern India to launch this service.\r\nThakur said Bike Ambulance Service has been launched in the State, keeping in view its geographical conditions, adding that sometimes it became difficult for 108 Ambulance service to reach the spot due to traffic congestion in Shimla town or due to non-availability of proper ambulance roads.
