India: 108 Emergency Ambulance Service in 7 More Districts of Odisha


The 108 Odisha Emergency Medical Ambulance Service will be expanded to seven new districts by the end of May. Currently providing service in Khurda, Koraput, Ganjam and Cuttack, the ambulances would be launched in the districts of Puri, Rayagada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Angul immediately with Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal to follow suit by July. India: Stick to 65 Decibel Siren, Cops to Ambulance Drivers


Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has asked ambulance drivers not to blow the sirens beyond 65 decibel. With complaints about ambulances using the siren systems at will, the police on April 29 Monday asked the drivers to refrain from using high levels of decibel. The City police said there have been a number of complaints from various quarters that the ambulances are using high sounding sirens not only during the day, but also during late in the night.

Kozhikode: Road accident victims in Kozhikode will soon get more help and assistance in the form of ‘Bike Ambulances’, a first-of-its kind initiative in the state. The two-wheeler ambulance service aims to provide accident victims an emergency transport and first aid. India: 900 Ambulances to Make Golden Hour Treatment a Reality by August in Maharashtra


Mumbai: The state’s health department is all set to launch the ambitious emergency medical service (EMS) project from August, making treatment within the ‘golden hour’ a possibility for everyone in the state. Through the Rs1000 crore project, over 937 ambulances will be available across the state. Dilip Jadhav, senior consultant for the project, said, “The state government has allotted the project to BVG India Limited, which will give us the first vehicle in August.”  To avail the service, you will have to call on 108, a nationwide, toll-free number. India: Medical Aid for Poll Staff in Bangalore


The BBMP Health department, along with ‘108’ ambulance services, is gearing up to cater to the emergency medical needs of the poll staff on May 5. Along with its four mobile dispensaries stationed at each zone - South, East, West and Central, the BBMP has deputed eight medical officers and 10 paramedical staff to their zonal health centres. A total of 13 ambulances from EMRI ‘108’ ambulance services will be stationed at various government hospitals and BBMP offices. The services will be available on May 4 and 5 and also on May 8, when the counting of votes will be held.
