	India: Delhi University Students to get Training in First Aid, Disaster Response
	The administration at Zakir Husain Delhi College has started a ‘Learning Beyond Curriculum Programme’ for undergraduate students, who are being trained in first aid, disaster response, social skills, legal literacy, entrepreneurship, self-defence, civic values and activism. Classes for the programme are held on 5 March.\r\nMeanwhile, students of Hindu College, as part of their annual college fest, are holding a ‘treasure’ hunt of sorts on 4 March where they will try to recreate ordeals that students may encounter on the streets of Delhi, to see how well-prepared participants are when it comes to being aware and alert.

	Kochi: Two months after they lost a couple of friends in an accident on Varapuzha Bridge, their friends at the School of Engineering (SoE), Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have developed a \'quick response signal system\' which will alert the nearest emergency/enforcement service.

	India: Emergency Medical Care Card Launched
	MedIndia Hospitals has introduced an emergency medical care card that people can carry in their wallet all the time. TS Chandrasekar, chairman of MedIndia Hospitals Research and Training Institute, launched the card on Sunday (12 March) at the hospital’s continuing medical education programme.\r\nDr Chandrasekar said such cards are helpful especially when a patient travels unaccompanied and is brought unconscious to a hospital. The card includes details such as name, age, gender, blood group, mobile number, besides a list of common diseases. Those requesting such cards can approach the hospital, which will conduct a master health check-

	India: India\'s First AC Ambulance on Rails to Aid in Golden Hour
	Mumbai: Central Railway (CR) unveiled India\'s first air-conditioned rail ambulance that will rush to the aid of injured passengers during the vital \'golden hour\'.\r\nAn accident victim\'s chances of survival are greatest if treatment is provided within an hour or less, known as the golden hour. The ambulance, which will be stationed at Kalyan, was made by modifying an AC coach used for passenger service. CR\'s chief public relations officer Narendra Patil said, \"The four-coach rail ambulance of CR is the first fully air-conditioned medical recovery van of the Indian railway.\"

	India: Mock Drill on Emergency Response Conducted
	Pondicherry: The Department of Revenue and Disaster Management conducted a mock rescue drill on 10 March to train the staff of various departments in emergency support function and to create awareness among the public on disaster management.\r\nStaff members from various government departments including the police, fire service, revenue, social welfare, electricity and PWD participated in the drill.
