Philippines: Bantay 161 Switched On


Mandaue City government has integrated its emergency and rescue services.The Bantay Mandaue 161 was launched September 13 morning at the newly inaugurated command center located just beside the City Hall. Under the new emergency response system, the command of the Accident Control and Emergency Rescue Team (Acert), Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (Eruf), Mandaue City Fire Station and different barangay volunteers groups have been integrated. A nationwide organization of cardiovascular specialists asked the Metro Manila Development Authority on September 26 Thursday to pass a measure requiring government and private offices to have their own defibrillator machines in the workplace. Philippines: Rescue 922 Holds Second First-Aid Olympics


Cauay City: To instill preparedness in times of calamities, this city's multi-awarded Rescue 922 conducted last on September 22 Sunday the second first-aid Olympics at the Francisco L. Dy Coliseum here. The Olympics is participated in by high school and college schools in the city including the trained barangay rescue teams. Rescue 922 head Ronald Viloria said the Olympics is now on its second implementation as this was first conducted last year through the initiative of the city's rescue unit. He said the first aid Olympic will already be conducted annually as the city government supports the continuity of the activity.

Philippines: Negrense Lauded for Peace Prize Who Had Served as Emergency Medical Technician


Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. congratulated a Negrense on October 13, who is an official of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, and other Filipinos who are members of the OPCW that is this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner. Quezon City: The Philippine National Police (PNP) recently received a brand new ambulance and sports equipment from the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI).
