	Kota Kinabalu: With intent to promote a safer working environment, Relevant Strategic Resources Sdn Bhd developed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) first aid and fire safety training programme to impart basic practical first aid and fire safety knowledge on industry players.\r\nThe training programme is planned for July 11, will feature HRDF-certified trainers Dr Joseph Lee and Ir Dr Jacob Yan, who will conduct two modules - CPR and First Aid at the Workplace, and Fire Safety at the Workplace. 	Bangkok: Only around 40% of the patients who have requested the new free government subsidised Emergency Medical Treatment recently have received it.\r\nFree emergency treatment is guaranteed to Thai citizens under Thailand\'s new Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients (Ucep) law if the patients are able to meet certain conditions. A total of 1,366 people have contacted the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) to inquire about their rights since the policy was implemented on April 1.

	Phuket: Bangkok Hospital Phuket has confirmed to The Phuket News its stance on emergency care for patients under the new Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients (UCEP) law brought into effect on April 1.\r\nThe new law, administered by the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM), enables all patients who require emergency medical care and assistance to be able to access it wherever they are in the country at whichever hospital – private or state – is closest to them for a period of up to 72 hours.

	Thailand: Medical Response Training Held to Prepare for Major Incidents
	The Thai Medical Response to Major incident simulation training (ThaiSim) model has been developed to enhance hospitals’ readiness to deal with emergencies.\r\n“ThaiSim can be applied to all hospitals and situations,” National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) secretary-general Atchariya Pangma said on Thursday (8 June). He said hospitals in Lampang province had applied ThaiSim to deal with road accidents. In the South, ThaiSim has been used to plan actions in incidents related to drilling platforms.
