United Arab Emirates: Emergency Service in all Dubai Healthcare Centres Soon


Dubai: Emergency services at all healthcare centres in Dubai, and not just major hospitals, will be a reality shortly, according to a senior official from the Dubai Heath Authority (DHA). With ambitious plans to make the emirate a medical hub in the region, Engineer Eisa Al Maidour, Director-General of the DHA, said that emergency services at healthcare centres are the first of its kind in the region. He said emergency services used to be provided only at three major hospitals, namely Rashid, Dubai and Latifa Hospitals. Now, emergency services will soon be available to the public at healthcare centres.

United Arab Emirates: Emergency Department at Abu Dhabi's Al Rahba Hospital to be Expanded


Abu Dhabi: The accident and emergency department at Al Rahba Hospital will be expanded and renovated to increase capacity by 7 to 10 per cent and reduce waiting time. Construction of the Dh33.6million hospital will begin shortly after the approval of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. It is expected to be completed in 20 months, according to the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, Seha. The hospital will have new medical and non-medical furniture and information technology. The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has announced that the expansion and renovation of the emergency room (ER) at Al Rahba Hospital will begin shortly. United Arab Emirates: Oman Deploys Air Ambulance in Tourist Area


Muscat: With thousands of Gulf region tourists pouring into Salalah for holidays, amid the area’s current monsoon weather, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) have deployed an air ambulance designed to respond to traffic accidents or other medical emergencies during the course of the holiday season. A helicopter fitted with emergency trauma care equipment has been positioned at the ROP’s Al Wusta Police Command, roughly at the midpoint between Muscat in the northeast and Salalah in the far south of the Sultanate.
