	Nepal: The Continuing Inaction on Road Safety Has to End, Does Not Have Enough Trauma Centre
	Nearly 1,800 people were killed in road traffic accidents all over Nepal in 2014-15. And although the Indian fuel blockade will bring down the figure for this year, it is sure to climb up again when the blockade is lifted.\r\nNepal doesn’t have enough trauma care facilities along roads. Nor does Nepal have an emergency room surveillance system. There are no emergency access telephone numbers that are essential to saving lives during or after road traffic rash.

	Nepal: Scale up Emergency Preparedness WHO
	Kathmandu: Health sector partners have called for scaling up emergency responses after reviewing lessons learnt from last year’s earthquake.\r\nA press statement issued here on 25 April by World Health Organisation said that as Nepal marks one year of the earthquake, the health sector partners reviewed lessons learnt from the event and recommended strengthening and expanding emergency preparedness and response capacities beyond the national capital, and testing them periodically, to prepare better for future emergencies.

	Nepal: Doctors Threaten to Halt Emergency Services in Birgunj
	Birgunj: The doctors on Sunday (June 19) warned of halting emergency services in most of the hospitals in Birgunj, Nepal, if their arrested colleagues were not released at the earliest.\r\nResponding to the call of Nepal Medical Association (NMA) Birgunj, the doctors carried out a rally in Birgunj this morning. NMA vice-president Dr Pramod Sarraf submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer (CDO) Keshav Raj Ghimire demanding early release of the arrested doctors.

	Nepal: Charikot Hospital Shuts down Emergency Service as Well
	The Charikot Hospital in Dolakha on September 29 shut down its emergency service, protesting the incident where a group of doctors were forced to apologise before cameras over the death of a 2-year-old boy.\r\nAfter the apology video went viral on social media, the hospital had halted all services, except for emergency, on Wednesday. The hospital staff has claimed that the doctors were humiliated by the patient’s relatives in presence of police and officials from the District Administration Office (DAO).

	Nepal: Seti Zonal Hospital gets Dialysis Machine to provide 24 Hours Emergency Service
	Bhaktapur: Health Minister Gagan Thapa, on October 4, inaugurated the haemodialysis machine that was gifted to Seti Zona The dialysis unit has the capacity to provide dialysis service to as many as 24 kidney failure patients and also to provide 24 hours emergency service.
