	India: MSF Press for Free EMS to Students
	Imphal: In an attempt to provide sufficient medical requirements to the student community, Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) has demanded, on February 12, the concern authority to provide free medical emergency facilities (EMS) in all government schools and colleges having not less than three hundred students. The students' body has urged him to provide at least one doctor and a nurse in all the government educational institutions operating in the state so that any medical emergencies can be tended to, without any delay inside the premises of the institutions.

	India: Another Ambulance Service Staff on Strike in Patna
	Patna: If the impasse over 102 ambulance services was not enough, the staff of 1099 ambulance services in Patna also went on strike on February 11 Tuesday, the issue being the same - non-payment of salary. The Patna employees of the service parked their ambulances near Gandhi Maidan and staged dharna there. As many as 94 advance life-support system ambulances of 1099 service ply across the state. Apart from carrying emergency patients, they also carry bodies. About 400 drivers and paramedical staff are employed with the service, which has been outsourced to a private foundation.

	Pune: Nurses in government hospitals across the state have decided to go on an indefinite strike as the state government has refused to concede their demands to fill up vacant posts and increase the number of nursing staff in hospitals, said Anuradha Athavale, president of the Maharashtra Government Nurses' Federation on February 12 Wednesday. "We have tried to voice our concerns to the government repeatedly, but our plea has fallen on deaf ears. 	India: After Mishaps, Railways Plan to Bridge Platform Gap, and Ambulance Deployed at all Stations
	Mumbai: The railways have approved a proposal to increase the height of platforms in suburban stations to 920 mm to reduce the risk of passengers falling through the gap between trains and platforms. Also, ambulances will be deployed 24X7 at 28 stations between Churchgate and Virar on Western Railway and Central Railway's 18 stations between CST and Mulund, to give emergency medical support to those injured in mishaps. However, stations in Thane district and the Harbour corridor have been ignored in this phase.
