	Singapore: The 3 Primary pupils were trying to make their way to safety by crawling through a wall of smoke.Navigating their way down the darkened corridor, they could hardly see.Thankfully, this was not a real fire but a simulation exercise.\r\nOne that is available at a new centre to educate the young to be better prepared when the unexpected happens. On 4 January, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) unveiled its new Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC), which was launched by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean.

	Singapore: Seniors Learn How to Do CPR and Use AED
	Singapore: Proving one can never be too old to learn life-saving skills, about 450 senior citizens aged 50 to 90 gathered on 15 March to learn how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).The senior citizens were paired with about 150 students from ITE College Central who are trained and certified in CPR and AED by the People\'s Association Emergency Preparedness Division.The event is part of the \"Think Health, Live Well\" Health Carnival organised by the Ang Mo Kio CC Women\'s Executive Committee. 	Singapore: Staff Working Hard to get Jurong Hospital Ready by July
	The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) in Jurong has been a hive of activity since it obtained its Temporary Occupation Permit on March 12, as workers and staff rush to get it ready for its targeted mid-year opening.Mr Foo Hee Jug, chief executive officer of JurongHealth to which the hospital belongs, told The Straits Times: \"We are now working hard on commissioning and getting the hospital operationally ready by July.\"The hospital will open in phases, with its clinics, a few wards and critical care services as well as its emergency department opening first, with more beds coming on stream over the subsequent months.

	Singapore: SCDF Reveals New Work-plan Centred around Community Involvement in Life saving
	Singapore: The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) unveiled its new work-plan for 2015/2016 at ITE East on Friday (Apr 17) that brings community involvement and technological innovations to the fore.Under the Save-a-Life initiative, SCDF will roll out an installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in six constituencies across the island - Bedok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Pasir Ris West, Radin Mas and Tampines West - from June 2015. One AED will be installed in every two HDB blocks for ease of access by community volunteers.

	Singapore: Healthy Expansion for Raffles Medical Emergency Dept will Receive Civil Defence Ambulances
	Raffles Medical Group will open a new facility in Shaw Centre in June that will provide a wide range of services, it announced on April 28.Executive chairman Loo Choon Yong noted at the firm\'s results briefing on April 28 that the location was a \"focal point\" for both Singaporeans and foreigners. Under an agreement with the Ministry of Health, Raffles Hospital\'s emergency department will begin receiving patients from Singapore Civil Defence Force emergency ambulances by the middle of this year
