United Arab Emirates: Dubai Unveils Novel Ambulances


Dubai: The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has unveiled 3 new ambulatory vehicles which are the first of their kind in the Middle East. This took place at the Dubai International Ambulance Conference (DIAC) which kicked off on March 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.\r\nThe car will handle cases of drowning. It will be used to provide first aid to the injured, before they are taken to an ambulance for transfer to a hospital.

United Arab Emirates: Dubai¡¯s Ambulance Services Have Reduced Response Time to 4 Minutes in 20% of the Cases


Dubai: One in 5 ambulance responses by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) is now done in 4 minutes, down from the average of 8 minutes.\r\nDubai’s ambulance services have managed to cut down their response time by half for 20 per cent of the cases they handled in 2015. The reduction in response time is part of Dubai’s vision and target for 2020.

United Arab Emirates: 58,000 Buildings in Dubai Connected to 24x7 Smart System


Dubai: Two and a half years since its launch, the Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) connected about 58,000 establishments and buildings – “literally almost all of them in the emirate” – to a 24x7 Remote Monitoring System (RMS) where, in case of emergency, alarm signals are sent to the 24x7x365 DCD Command Control Centre, allowing for a timely response.\r\nThe system – which is espoused as a key value to the safety and national security of Dubai – detects and reports alarms in real time from fire and fire fighting systems, and lift and gas detection systems in residential, domestic, commercial and industrial buildin

United Arab Emirates: New 998 App Allows Residents to Request Emergency Ambulance


Abu Dhabi: Residents in the northern emirates can request an emergency ambulance at the touch of a button with the launch of a 998 application by the National Ambulance. The National Ambulance on Tuesday (3 May) launched its 998 app for mobile phones as a step to provide additional support to the community in the vital area of emergency service.\r\nThe app allows residents in the northern emirates to request an ambulance in emergency situations. The ambulance can be dispatched immediately to their destination through GPS tracking.

United Arab Emirates: New Drivers to Get First Aid Training in Dubai


Dubai: Residents applying for a driving licence will have to undergo first aid and emergency training, a top official from Dubai’s transport sector regulator has said.\r\nSeveral enhancements are being made to the driver’s training programme in Dubai. The enhancements are part of the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) policy of making periodic improvements to its programmes as well as keeping pace with the latest technologies.
