Lahore—Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) held a 1-day airport emergency exercise at Allama Iqbal International Airport here March 11 Tuesday. The full-scale emergency exercise was aimed at checking the adequacy of the airport emergency plan in real time and space, testing capabilities and effectiveness of firefighting personnel and equipment, besides checking the performance of medical and paramedical staff in attending casualties and their disposal. Hallanai: A 3-day training programme of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) concluded in Mohmand Agency on March16 Sunday with guests distributing certificates among facilitators and participants. Pakistan: A Distant Dream? : Free Emergency Healthcare Services Still Absent from Govt Hospitals


Even though the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has made several promises of providing free emergency healthcare services in government-run hospitals and allocated Rs 1 billion to the cause, patients complain they still have to pay for treatment.  On August 29, 2013, the health department released Rs 1 billion to the province’s hospitals to ensure that free emergency services are provided to visiting patients. Pakistan: Bara hospital reopens after four years


Landi Kotal: The Khyber Agency political administration on April 08 Tuesday reopened Dogra civil hospital in Bara subdivision after four and a half years. Officials told Dawn on April 08 Tuesday that a medical officer, technical and related staff would provide emergency health facilities at the hospital for 8 hours daily. Officials of the local political administration along with Frontier Corps officers paid a visit to the Dogra civil hospital the other day and inspected facilities there. They ordered provision of medical equipment for restarting emergency health cover.
