India: Learn Emergency Care from Ambulance Experts


Chennai: : You can now learn emergency medicine and become an expert in trauma response, via the 2-year full-time Advanced Post-graduation Diploma in Emergency Care (APGDEC), launched by GVK EMRI, the company that has been providing emergency medical services (108 ambulance) in Tamil Nadu.\r\nThe aim of this course is to make the students well aware of patient care in emergency, managing the case and to develop a proper attitude of handling an emergency situation. Combining technology with realistic practice scenarios like practicing on mannequins every student gets hands-on training.

India: Coimbatore Gets First Neo-Natal Ambulance


Coimbatore: The district got its first neo-natal ambulance for Coimbatore and two 108 ambulances exclusively for Valparai. The services was launched at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on July 12.\r\nThe neo-natal ambulance has transport incubators, ventilators and a multiport infusing system. The 108 ambulance will be stationed at the neo-natal intensive care unit, CMCH. And it would be operated for neo-natal cases only.

India: Life-Saving Drugs Biggest Casualty at BMC-Run Hospitals


Mumbai: Here’s a shortage of certain life-saving antibiotic injections in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) run hospitals. BMC-run hospitals provide certain medicines, capsules and injections free. India: Medica to Roll out Round-the-Clock Ambulances for Road Mishap Victims


Jamshedpur:  Road accidents in Jamshedpur are ever increasing and is one of the main reason behind death, with lack of infrastructure available and vehicles number growing with every passing day it has become really difficult for the daily commuters to ride on the busy streets of the city and not a single day passes when we do not hear about a road mishap.\r\nMedica Jamshedpur (Kantilal Gandhi Memorial Hospital) with the joint project of Jamshedpur Police will start the free of cost ambulance service for road victims by 15th August or before the Durga Puja begins.

India: 108 Ambulances had Expensive Equipment but no Manpower: Comptroller & Auditor General


Jaipur: The health department has procured expensive equipment without ascertaining availability of specialized manpower to operate it. A report of the Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) indicates that the health department had made unfruitful expenditure of Rs 1.47 crore due to non-utilization of advanced life support equipment for ambulances for more than four years.\r\n\"The 108 emergency service was launched in May 2008 following an MoU with EMRI, a private firm, to run 150 ambulances in a phased manner spread over a period of July 2008 to March 2009.
