India: Smart phones Sought for 108 Ambulance Drivers to Digitise Operations


Bengaluru: There are 12 forms that the ambulance driver and paramedic are expected to fill, including those for case details, medicines consumed and fleet maintenance. Should the government give a nod, all these would be fed through the phone.\r\nGVK EMRI, which runs the 108 Arogya Kavacha ambulance service, has sent a proposal to the state government seeking smart phones for ambulance drivers. India: In a first, Citizens to be trained in CPR


Vadodara: Around 480 students were trained in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) method in the 3-day programme conducted by the Lifelife Foundation that ended on Thursday (5 May). The organization wants to ensure that Vadodara earns the tag of a \'CPR City\', a concept mooted by Shukanto Das, son of Dr Subroto Das, the CEO and co-founder of Lifeline.\r\n\"Vadodara is working towards becoming a smart city and improved medical care is one of the necessities. India: MUrgency Providing Free Emergency Training Source


The world\'s first emergency medical response mobile application, MUrgency, is providing free life support training to doctors, nurses, EMTs and paramedics enrolled on the One Global Emergency Response Network. The MUrgency Training Program for Responders includes Basic Life Support (BLS) training; Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training; Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and First Aid (FA) training; MUrgency Mobile App training; and Soft Skills training.

India: All-inclusive Emergency Number 112 to be in Use from January 1, 2017


New Delhi: Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has approved the provision of a single emergency number in India. The all-inclusive emergency number 112 will come in effect from January 1 in 2017.The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had approached the Indian government to launch the number \'112\' as a single emergency contact number.\r\nThe use of 112 will not affect the existing emergency numbers. Contact numbers such as 100, 101, 102 and 1906, which are used to contact police, fire department, ambulance and gas leakage management, will be reserved as subordinate numbers.

Android app Ausodhyatmika, which gives information about alternative generic variants for medicines, has incorporated all these options now.\r\nBased on user feedback, additional features and emergency helpline numbers have been incorporated into the mobile phone app making it one-stop app for all healthcare needs, says Krishna Kant Tiwari, the app developer from Bengaluru.
