Thailand: 26 Medical Aid Stations Put on Standby


Bangkok: Twenty-six medical-aid stations have been set up under the Public Health Ministry's supervision to provide emergency care to anti-government protesters, who will converge around Bangkok on January 13 Monday, the ministry's permanent secretary Dr Narong Sahametapat said yesterday. He added that the medical stations were ready with all the relevant equipment and blood supplies. Narong also advised patients suffering from non-serious illnesses or those needing to top up their normal prescriptions to postpone their appointments, though he added that government hospitals will continue as per normal. Thailand: First Aid Programme Held in Naklua


A 3 day First Aid training programme came to an end on March 02 Sunday afternoon at the Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Naklua.  The programme, held in association with the Queen Sirikit Hospital in Sattahip, was organised for staff members of the Foundation and all its volunteers, plus invited teams made up from Traffic Police, Fire Brigade and Security Guards in the area. They all learned hands on about the latest techniques in First Aid and how to deal with people traumatized after being involved in an accident.

Thailand: Hospitals Told to Draw upContingency Plans


Bangkok: The Public Health Ministry has told hospitals nationwide to draw up back-up plans in times of crisis, while reminding all sides that hospitals must be violence-free areas.  The Ministry of Public Health has ordered all hospitals under its supervision to be fully prepared for any and unexpected incidents, including electricity blackout, water outage, and evacuation.  According to the ministry’s guideline, if a power outage lasts longer than 24 hours, the hospital should seek assistance from a hospital nearby and if an evacuation is needed, emergency patients should be the first ones on the list.

Thailand: Erawan Center is ready for Emergency Situation


Bangkok: The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Erawan Emergency Centre has said more than 40 mobile medical teams are ready to take care of protesters joining the anti-government marching on March 29 Saturday. Those teams have been stationed along streets that the People's Democracy Reform Committee, led by Suthep Thuagsuban, would march through; from Lumpini Park to Rama V monument. A spate of protest-related violence embroiling Thailand over the past three months has killed more than 20 people and injured more than 700.  The Erawan center has also said it ready for any emergency situation in Bangkok and its vicinity duri

Thailand: BHP Preparation for SONGKRAN, Special Emergency Care Services


On the morning of April 9 Wednesday, representatives from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, Sawang Boriboon Foundation and Pattaya Tourist Police made an announcement about a 24 hours accident and emergency care service during the Songkran Festival in the province.   The hospital’s medical team will work closely with the Sawang Boriboon Volunteers, and both Banglamung and Tourist Police to attend to the safety of residents and visitors to Pattaya over the weeklong festival.
