Pakistan: Public Facility: BBH Gets New Emergency Ward


RAWALPINDI: The renovated emergency ward at Benazir Bhutto Hospital was inaugurated on June 15 along with promises of up-gradation of different departments of the hospital, including installation of a CT scan machine, an X-ray machine and computerisation of pathology and radiology departments. At the inauguration, former MNA HanifAbbasi said the DC has approved Rs8.8 million for an internal road at the hospital.

Pakistan: Inomata Provides Ambulance, Medical Equipment to Health Centre


Islamabad: Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Hiroshi Inomata along with his wife Midori Inomata and Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated on Friday(June 12) a project to provide essential medical equipment and an ambulance to a health centre in the outskirts of Islamabad.\r\nThis project was implemented by a grant of $70,660 provided by the Government of Japan to the True Worth Foundation. Syeda Zahra Fatemi, chairwoman of the foundation, and other members, attended the ceremony.

Pakistan: Saving lives: NHMP to Set-up First-aid Training Centre


National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has announced to establish a first-aid training centre in a bid to build capacity of its staff in meeting road emergencies.\r\nNHMP Inspector General Muhammad Saleem Bhatti and former IGP and secretary interior Zafar Iqbal Rathore attended the conclusion of a first-aid training course for NHMP staff in Islamabad, said a press release.Rathore, who was the chief guest, appreciated NHMP’s services and advised officials to continue their ‘good work’ in making Pakistan’s roads safe for travel.

Pakistan: NDMA to Establish Heat Stroke Centres in Sindh to Arrange Emergency Medicines


Islamabad: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will establish heat stroke centres at all government and private hospitals including basic health units(BHUs) and to arrange all necessary emergency medicines for heat stroke victims.\r\nThe centres are being established after directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to take response measures in view of the recent heat wave in Karachi, leading to unfortunate deaths, said a news release issued here.

Pakistan: Aman Foundation ? Thatta, Sujawal to have Ambulance Service Soon


Karachi: Head of Aman Health Foundation’s Emergency Medical Services Athar Jamal has announced that Aman ambulance service would be launched shortly in Sindh’s Thatta and Sujawal districts.\r\nHe was speaking to newsmen along with Aman Healthcare Services’ chief executive officer Dr Saadia Quraishy and Shehryar Ahmed at Aman-Ambulance Headquarters.\r\nAccording to Athar Jamal, Aman-Ambulance service, under an agreement with Sindh government, would be made operational in Thatta and Sujawal districts while the service will be extended to other parts of the province in different phases in the next 5 years.
