	Kochi: With an aim of providing ambulance service in 3 minutes of a call to 102, the centralised network of ambulance under Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS) has begun operation at the District General Hospital. District Collector MG Rajamanickam inaugurated the office of ANGELS at the old pay ward section of the hospital on Tuesday(June 23).\r\nThe new system would have trained drivers and better equipped ambulances to handle road accidents. 	India: Hi-tech Ambulance Introduced in Puducherry
	Puducherry: The Puducherry government pressed into service a hi-technology, fully-equipped ambulance sponsored by New India Assurance under the Corporate Social Responsibility scheme at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh.\r\nChief Minister N. Rangasamy dedicated the ambulance, which has been donated to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Kathirkamam, to the public at a flag-off event organised at the institute.

	India: MediAlert SOS Device for Medical Emergencies Launched by Manipal Hospitals, Goa
	Manipal Hospitals, in partnership with AltaCop Technologies, launched a MediAlert device and a Mobile app here on June 25, which will ensure that prompt medical assistance is provided when people encounter a medical emergency outside the hospital premises.The device and the application were launched by veteran actor Nana Patekar.\r\nSpeaking on the occasion, Dr Sekhar Salkar, Chief of Clinical Services and HOD Oncology Department at Manipal Hospitals, Goa, said, \"MediAlert would be, most useful and ideal for the elderly couples staying alone, and domestic and international tourists in Goa.

	India: Healthcare Sector in Delhi to Undergo Major Facelift, Enhance CAT by 100 BLS and 10 ALS Ambulances
	Delhi: With a significant emphasis on upgrading Delhi’s healthcare facilities, the AAP government on Thursday(June 25) almost doubled the Budget allocation for health, and earmarked Rs 4,787 crore for the sector, including plans to set up three new hospitals, establishing 500 “mohalla clinics” and an advanced trauma centre at L.N.J.P. Hospital.\r\nThe city government will set up 35 units on PPP basis to provide free dialysis to poor patients suffering from kidney failure. The existing fleet of CAT ambulances is proposed to be enhanced by 100 basic and 10 advanced standard life support ambulances, again under PPP.

	India: Delhi to Get 205 Dedicated lanes for emergencies
	New Delhi: The Delhi government is all set to notify dedicated stretches in the city that will be reserved for emergency vehicles in case of a disaster. The stretches will be similar to the lanes that were reserved during the Commonwealth Games 2010 for athletes and officials.\r\nThe decision has been taken to ensure ambulances and fire tenders do not get caught in traffic jams during any emergency or a disaster.
