Bangladesh: Rotary Club Donates Ambulance to BSMMU for Palliative Care


Dhaka: Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka donated an ambulance to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for home medical services for palliative care, said a press release. Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka President Syed Mahbubur Rahman handed over the ambulance to Prof Pran Gopal Datta, vice-chancellor of BSMMU at a function in the city recently. Prof Dr Nezamuddin Ahmad of Centre of Palliative Care at BSMMU, Khalid Hassan and Ferdous Ahmed of Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka were present at the function. Bangladesh: Encroachers Occupy DMCH Front Road, Footpath; Emergency Patient Faces Problem


Dhaka: Encroachers have occupied the road and walkway in front of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with support from a few of the medical’s employees and negligence of authorities, causing added suffering to the inbound patients. Bangladesh: Enam Medical to Buy Air Ambulances as it Moves to Modernise Services


Enam Medical College and Hospital is going to buy 4 air ambulances in order to expand its modern medical services in the country. Purchasing of the air ambulances and making them fully operational will cost about Tk 600 million. Bangladesh: Salimullah Medical College Closes for Indefinite Period


Dhaka: Following a 2-day stand-off between the students and staff of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital, the college in the capital was declared closed on December 11 for an indefinite period. The institution will not open “until the situation becomes normal”, Principal Prof Dilip Kumar Dhar told journalists. He also asked all the residential students to leave the campus by 7:00am December 12.
