India: Armed Forces Mount Massive Relief Operations in Uttarakhand and Himachal


New Delhi: In one of the largest operations in several decades, the Army and the Air Force today mounted massive rescue and relief operations in the flood and landslide affected areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh while the Border Roads Organisation deployed 3000 of its personnel and equipment, working for various projects, to clear the roads and to rescue the stranded people. Srinagar, June 17: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad on June 17 Monday said that Delhi has included J&K as a special category State under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), by which the funding pattern has been eased to 90:10 from the previous 75:25. India: Free Ambulance Service Soon in Maharashtra


Mumbai: The much-awaited free emergency ambulance service will be launched across the state by December end. Ambulances with advanced medical facility would reach on the spot within 15-20 minutes after receiving the call. A common helpline number 108, will be made available during an emergency situation. Chennai: When a middle-aged woman suffered a heart attack on a bus recently, everyone seemed helpless but for a fireman, SenthilKumaran, who administered emergency care and saved her. Kumaran had undergone asimulation training on emergency care.  Doctors at SRM Medical Centre for simulation insist on the importance of learning emergency procedures.
