On the lines of USA’s all-in-one emergency services number 911, India is set to operationalise a national emergency response system phone number 112 in January next year, according to reports. Preparations in this regard are already in full swing. India: Cops create green corridor to rush 300 injured to hospitals in Kanpur train tragedy


Lucknow: The police of four districts — Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur, Jalaun and Auraiya — prepared a green corridor to rush people injured in the Indore-Patna Express derailment near Pukhrayan, about 100 km southwest of Kanpur, on Sunday.\r\n \r\nNearly 100 ambulances transported more than 300 injured people from the site of the accident to various hospitals.\r\n \r\n“We got the call about the accident around 3.30 am. Within half an hour, 27 ambulances of the 108 service and 25 ambulances of the 102 service reached the accident spot. India: 500 Health Employees to be Made BLS Trainers in Kashmir


Srinagar, Nov 25: Continuing its efforts to disseminate Basic Life Support training (BLS) at Block levels to various stakeholders of the community, the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) has started a pilot project wherein nominated team comprising of Doctors and Paramedics of each health block will be imparted training on modern guidelines.\r\nThe Directorate in collaboration with International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) had started BLS programme in 2011 and till now DHSK has given BLS training to around 5000 people.

India: Heavy Licence Holders to Get Basic Life Support Training


Thiruvananthapuram: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) will impart basic life support (BLS) training to heavy vehicle licence holders to help accident victims. The training will be provided through Trauma Care and Road Safety Utility Service in Thiruvananthapuram (TRUST), registered as a service society by the MVD.

India: Mobile App launched for Ambulance Inspection


Udaipur: In order to improve and maintain the 104 and 108 Ambulance services in the city, the Health Department, Udaipur district has launched a Mobile App, which will manage real-time inspections of the Ambulance vehicles.\r\nDr Sanjeev Tak, CMHO, in his message during the video conference between health officials of the district on 30 November, said that the app will be helpful in monitoring the effectiveness of the Ambulances in real time, based on a 9 point inspection program.  These will include Medicine, Oxygen Cylinder and various other emergency medical equipment.
