India: Bike Ambulance Service Launched in Kalaburagi


Kalaburagi: The First Responder Bike Ambulance as part of the 108 Ambulance Service was launched by the Minister for Municipal Administration and Minority Affairs Qamarul Islam in Kalaburagi on Sunday (June 07).\r\nMr Islam said the bike ambulance would function as a first response unit for patients residing in localities where the regular ambulance cannot reach easily. It will be operated by a trained staff nurse who will reach the spot and provide necessary first aid to the patient, before the regular ambulances reach out and evacuate the patient to the hospital.

India: 108 Ambulance Drivers Stop Work


Bengaluru: Protesting against non-payment of salaries, drivers of 108 ambulances in the State stopped work on Friday(June05) night. As a result, nearly 70 per cent of the 587 ambulances were parked at their base locations causing hardship to patients.

There’s always a slight reluctance to help a victim of a road traffic accident in need – what if you get tangled in lengthy police and legal procedures? To encourage more people to help victims – take them to the hospital or call for emergency services, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has notified guidelines to protect Good Samaritans.\r\nUnder these guidelines, the person assisting the victim will not have any civil or criminal liability, need not disclose personal information including her name while calling the police or emergency services, and can leave immediately after taking an injured person to the neares

India: GNRC Hospital Launches Free Ambulance Service ? A fleet of 100 Ambulance Aimed


Dispur: GNRC has launched a fleet of ambulances, to complete GNRC’s emergency services portfolio. Addressing a press conference held at GNRC Dispur to flag off the fleet, Dr Nomal Chandra Borah, Chairman cum Managing Director, GNRC Hospitals, informed that the fleet of 100 ambulances will aim to provide basic life support instantly after receiving a call for an ambulance and will have on board a paramedic and a pilot – both trained in basic life support and safe medical evacuation procedures.\r\nIndividuals can call 1800-345-0011 (toll free) to avail the service

India: Mock Drills for Disaster Management for Kumbh Mela from June 21


Nashik: With majority of the civil works completed, the district administration is now gearing up to plan the deployment of nearly 50,000 staff and security personnel expected to help in Kumbh Mela management.\r\nMock drills of the police, health and disaster management teams will be jointly conducted in the city.
