	In the wake of a study report that a majority of the ambulance drivers are addicted to drugs and suffering from health problems, the City police, in association with the Active Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS), is planning an exclusive awareness programme for all ambulance drivers in the district on June 13. 	India: Medical College to Introduce Triage System
	Kozhikode: In order to provide better service to the patients at the casualty section, the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, will introduce a triage system from June 20.\r\nWith the setting up of the new system, patients will be provided emergency services on the basis of the severity of the illness as decided by the doctor in the triage area, said Dr M K Ravindran, HOD, Department of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, Government Medical College, Kozhikode.

	India: Over 600 Traffic Sleuths Get Life Support Training
	Ahmedabad: Emergency medical assistance for victims of road accidents will now be seconds away, with hundreds of traffic policemen being trained in basic life support training and other techniques. Faisal Siddiqui, general manager of a private hospital in Thaltej, says, \"So far we have, imparted BLS training to 650 traffic police personnel and 250 more will be trained to enable them to be the `first responders` in emergency situations.\" He said the objective behind the training is to educate police personnel about steps to be taken in case of an accident or medical emergency.

	India: Cops to Run Ambulance Service
	Thiruvananthapuram: The state police will operate 19 new ambulances as part of \'seamless medical intervention for life care and emergency\' (SMILE), an initiative aimed at reducing road accidents.\r\nThe initiative will be undertaken in association with health department to ensure timely intervention and help from the police.Traffic and highway police will be trained to respond immediately to road accidents and capitalise on the \'golden hour\', the first hour after an accident that could mean the difference between life and death.
