Oman: MOT Contract Private Firm to Provide Rescue Services in Wadi Bani Khalid


Muscat: The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has contracted a private company to provide rescue and ambulance services at the popular Wadi Bani Khalid site in North Sharqiyah. Water bodies at Wadi Bani Khalid are popular among tourists throughout the year.\r\nMoT said that 182,648 people visited the wadis in the wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid last year compared to 156,129 visitors in 2016, an increase of 17 per cent.

Pakistan: Khyber Teaching Hospital to Provide Airlift Service -First of kind


Peshawar: The Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) will be the first institution of its kind in the country to have a helipad for its accident and emergency department (A&E). The service aims to provide prompt medical help to bomb blast victims from across the province. KTH Chief Executive DrUmerAyub made the announcement while releasing the hospital’s annual performance report on April 21 Sunday. The administration also highlighted a number of achievements in the infrastructure of various departments. Pakistan: Health Department Told to Prepare for Medical Emergencies on Election Day


Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) health department has been told to prepare for any emergency on Election Day. A press statement issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs Department, on May 1 Wednesday, requested the provincial secretary for health to consider the interior ministry’s proposal a priority so that any untoward incident on May 11 can be handled. The ministry requested the health secretary to declare emergency in all district headquarters hospitals and teaching hospitals on May 11 and cancel the holidays of health officials.

Pakistan: Trauma, ER Centre to be Established at Police hospital


Karachi: Steps are being taken for the establishment of a trauma, emergency centre and blood bank at the Sindh Police Hospital. A spokesman of the Sindh Police here stated this on May 20 Monday. He informed that the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahid Nadeem Baloch, said this during a visit to the hospital. The IGP was told that medical, surgery, gynaecological, women’s diseases and eye treatment were currently being offered to the patients at the 62-bed hospital. Pakistan: UHS Launches EMT Course for Ambulance


Lahore: University of Health Sciences (UHS) has launched an international certificate emergency medical technician (EMT) course for ambulance staff of Rescue 1122 and EDHI Ambulance Service in collaboration with University College Dublin (UCD) and Disaster Relief by Irish and Pakistanis (DRIP), Ireland. The course being run at UHS Institute of Learning Emergency Medicine (ILEM) will carry certification from National Ambulance Services College (NASC), Ireland.
