	Manama: Clinics and other health facilities in Saudi Arabia that do not report cases of the Middle East Respiratory syndrome Coronavirus (Mers-CoV) will be shut down and have their licences revoked, a health ministry official has said.A facility that repeats violations after it is warned by an inspection team would be seen as refusing to comply with the new regulations and would be subject to stricter punitive measures, he added.

	Health Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb has urged his officials to provide the best health services to the guests of Allah who will be performing Haj during the forthcoming season.Al-Khateeb insisted that health and safety of all Haj pilgrims should be the foremost concern of the health officials, who will be monitoring the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. The minister made special mention of cardiac patients, diabetics and pilgrims, who may need emergency surgeries and should therefore be well taken care of.

	Saudi Arabia: Emergency Drill Planned Ahead of Bahrain F1
	Manama: An emergency drill will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), in Sakhir, April 16 in preparation for this weekend\'s Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.Around 185 medical professionals will be involved in the drills under the supervision of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Formula One\'s governing body. The team includes nurses, paramedics and experts in neurosurgery, emergency medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics and anaesthesia.

	Riyadh: The Ministry of Health referred over 27 percent of emergency cases to specialized hospitals owing to the lack of specialized doctors, local media reported.\r\nThe ministry finalized the referrals of 63.78 percent of the cases received by emergency departments because of the non-availability of required services, approved the transfer of 5.68 percent of the cases received by emergency departments because of the lack of beds, and completed transfers of 2.63 percent of the total number of cases to specialized hospitals for other reasons

	Jeddah: The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah has sacked the director of King Faisal Hospital in the city. Also fired were the director of medical services, the director of support and the director of the emergency department following the investigation conducted into a sepsis case involving an unidentified 12-year-old girl in the hospital’s emergency department
