	Philippines: Duterte Offers Use of Presidential Plane as Air Ambulance for Wounded Soldiers
	The President offered the use of his plane to ferry the wounded soldiers after trying to boost the morale of the troops confined at a military hospital in Cagayan de Oro City. He boarded an ambulance with the soldiers on the way to the airport and later posed for photographs inside the aircraft.\r\nThe soldiers were among the 90 combatants injured in the fighting in Marawi City in recent days.

	Philippines: City Hall Mulls New 911 Emergency Hotline
	There is a need to unify the number to call during emergencies by using the 911 emergency hotline.\r\nIn a press conference yesterday, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña noted that under the current setup, there are several numbers to call during emergencies which creates confusion. People are even unaware of what number to call for help, he said. To streamline the city’s emergency response system, the city will launch the 911 emergency hotline through the Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Inc.

	Philippines: Measure Requires Establishments to Provide Life Support Services
	Baguoi: The Baguio City Council approved on first reading a proposed ordinance requiring all private and public establishments in the city to provide basic life support services by employing personnel trained in first aid. Authored by Councilor Elmer Datuin, the ordinance requires first aid teams or personnel who can administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). They should be available during working or office hours.

	Mandaluyong is now considered the first city in the country to have its own mobile emergency hospital, as it acquired P90 million worth of hospital tents and rescue equipment, including a search-and-rescue truck with boom, emergency mobile water purifying system, a rescue pick up, a nutrition van and a rescue boat.
