	Thiruvananthapuram: Data analytics and GPS will together deliver assistance in roadside emergencies, if a Technopark-based company has its way. There may not anymore be a need to call a pre-assigned number to requisition an ambulance service. Instead, a centralised command centre will voluntarily rush down nearest ambulance/crane to scene of an accident and guide it through traffic to deliver emergency services. 	India: Oil Cos Asked to Station 4 More ERVs in State
	Thiruvananthapuram: Oil companies have been asked to station four more Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) in the state to tackle disasters involving oil tanker lorries, Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash informed the Assembly on February 04 Tuesday. This decision was taken at a high-level meeting held after the oil tanker accident in Kannur last month. “It is the responsibility of the oil companies to provide the vehicles as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. 	India: Boat Capsizes on Indian River, 11 drowned, Dozens Rescued by Emergency Workers
	New Delhi: A boat overcrowded with picnic guests capsized on a river in India's eastern Orissa state, and at least 11 people drowned, officials said. Police, firefighters and emergency workers rescued dozens of people from the water, after the boat sank on February 9 Sunday in Orissa's Sambalpur District, about 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) southeast of New Delhi, state government official Pradeep Kumar Mahapatra said.

	India: Accident Response, Traffic Management Center in MP
	Indore: Indore Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) has set up one of the country’s first integrated Accident Response System and Traffic Management Center(ARS and TMC). Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inspected the successful implementation of the system. The center is expected to play vital role in significantly improving mobility and road safety in the state. The center, inclusive of operational software systems has been delivered by Trivandrum- based ARS Traffic and Transport Technology. The system integrates emergency response with intelligent transportation systems.

	India: Emergency? Don't Call 101 - Pune
	Pune: In the absence of an emergency medical services (EMS) number at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), citizens who require an ambulance are forced to fall back on 101, the fire brigade number. While there are ambulances here, they are meant especially for victims of incidents of fire, and are anyhow in no shape to ferry patients. “We receive almost 15 calls daily, asking for an ambulance, but due to a major staff crunch and with ambulances in dismal condition, we are forced to turn them down,” said Prashant Ranpise, (acting) chief fire officer, Pune.
