	India: KMC Hospital to Launch State-of-the-Art Ambulance Service in Mangaluru
	Mangaluru: KMC Hospital, part of Manipal Health Enterprises, on Wednesday(June 24) announced the launch of its wide network of ambulance service called \'Manipal Ambulance Response Service (MARS)\' and emergency number 0824-2222227.\r\nThe official inauguration of the ambulance service and the emergency number will be held on Friday(June 26) at 10 am at KMC Hospital in the presence of health minister U T Khadar, ACP (traffic) UdayaNayak, and superintendent of police (SP) Dr Sharanappa.

	India: D��Souza Commissions 12 New 108 Ambulances for Goa
	Panaji: Twelve new 108 ambulances with facilities to provide basic life support and advanced life support were commissioned by deputy chief minister and health minister Francis D\'Souza on Thursday(June 25).\r\nWith the addition of 12 ambulances, the total number of 108 ambulances has gone up to 38, and shortly ten ambulances will be removed from service as they are very old.

	India: Trauma-care Classes for Police in Kerala
	Thiruvananthapuram: The City police have joined hands with the Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute here to impart trauma life support training to its personnel.\r\nThe programme, launched by ADGP Rishi Raj Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer (KSEB), will have the personnel of the City police being divided into batches of 40 persons and being trained within a year in life support techniques in emergency situations. The programme, in fact, is a revival of a similar training initiative that was launched when Mr. Singh was the Transport Commissioner. 	India: Maharashtra Mulls Bike Ambulance Service for Big Cities
	Mumbai: Considering that four-wheel ambulances find it difficult to negotiate the city\'s congested roads, the state government is toying with the idea of introducing motorbike ambulances.\r\nThe logic is that patients can be started on medical treatment within the critical golden hour by doctors or paramedics riding bikes, which can cut through heavy traffic because of their manoeuvrability. The state is in talks with three British universities (Cambridge, Glasgow and Dundee) as well as the London Ambulance Service, the largest free ambulance service in the world.

	CARE Hospitals organises a workshop for traffic police personnel.Most accident victims can be saved if they get at least primary medical attention and shifted to professional medicare in the “golden hour.”The passersby and the police who reach the victim need to be aware of how to handle the patient.Ignorance of how to handle the victim may actually do more damage than the actual accident.\r\nThe police are often the first persons to reach the site and they need to be skilled in first aid techniques, holding the patient till an ambulance arrives and takes the victim to a hospital.
