Qatar: QRC supplies emergency medicines to Gaza hospitals


The Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has provided Palestinian hospitals in the Gaza Strip with emergency medicines in response to Gaza’s Ministry of Health hospitals that are suffering acute shortage of medicines and medical supplies in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression.\r\nQatar Emergency Relief Fund has donated QR2mn to import urgently required medicines to Gaza’s hospitals, including seven varieties of essential medicines totalling 40,300 pharmaceutical packages for emergency services and surgical procedures.

Qatar: 1.7mn Grants for HMC Trauma Research Projects


The Trauma Surgery Section at Hamad General Hospital’s Department of Surgery was recently awarded 2 National Priorities Research Programme (NPRP) grants worth over $1.7mn.\r\nThese grants are in line with the vision of Dr Hassan al-Thani, head of HMC’s Trauma Centre, to complement the advanced treatment of victims of trauma with relevant research that will inform injury prevention programmes for the leading causes of injury in Qatar, which are road traffic and occupational (workplace) injuries, according to a statement issued on August 23.

Qatar: QRC Organises Medical Course for Volunteers to Mark First Aid Day

Qatar: All-woman Ambulance Service Likely


Doha: An all-female ambulance service could soon be a reality in Qatar where there are frequent requests for it.\r\nA trainer in Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Ambulance Department says several women are being trained for the service.\r\nAhmed Nafiz Assobashi, however, gave no time-frame for the introduction of the service, in an interview published by local Arabic daily Al Watan September 14.
