India: Shimla to Have a Trauma Centre


Shimla: The Himachal government is all set to enter into a joint venture for the setting up of a trauma centre here in the state capital with Indus Hospital.\r\nThe Health and Family Welfare Department has received recommendation from the team of experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) who had visited the Indus Hospital to ascertain its suitability for setting up of a trauma centre.

India: Training Programme in First Aid Held at Law College


Salem: Students were imparted various techniques of first aid at a workshop that concluded at The Central Law College on Tuesday (September 22).The training programme was organised by the Youth Red Cross unit of the college.\r\nInaugurating the programme, D Saravanan, secretary, The Central Law College, stressed the importance of Red Cross Society, and the yeoman services rendered by its volunteers. He called upon the students to learn the basic techniques of first aid, which will go a long way in saving precious lives.

India: Emergency Dispatch Riders for Manipal Varsity Campus


Manipal: Manipal University has taken one more step to give yet another boost to security on the campus.While a ‘Quick reaction team, The Manipal Tigers’ is already operative from June 2015, two ‘Emergency Dispatch Riders’ on motorbikes have been introduced here on Tuesday (October 6).\r\nA release by the university here on Tuesday (October 6) said the need for a faster and cost effective mode of conveyance was felt on the university campus for emergency situations.

India: Bhubaneswar Cops to Ensure Smooth Passage for Ambulances


Bhubaneswar: Police have asked all hospitals, including private healthcare institutions to install GPS-enabled vehicle tracking devices in ambulances. The move is aimed at helping police track the location of ambulances and ensure clear passage for them in emergency scenarios.\r\nPolice have also asked the hospitals to alert the control room (100) or traffic police station (1095) when ambulances leave the hospital to bring patients.
