	New Delhi: Soon, there will be two-wheeler ambulances known as "first responders" across the country to provide emergency medical care to people in congested areas, by-lanes and crowded zones where other types of ambulances cannot reach. This category of ambulance is popular in countries including US, UK, Australia and Sweden which can provide first-aid, but don't transport patients. 	India: Transport Ministry Okays Ambulance Code
	New Delhi: The Ministry of Transport and Highways has approved a code to make ambulances better equipped and safer for moving patients depending upon their medical requirement since no guidelines were available for hospitals for seeking required specifications from the automobile industry. The “National Ambulance Code AIS:125” recommended by Central Motor Vehicles Rules-Technical Standing Committee (CMVR-TSC) has been approved by the ministry. 	India: Delhi Gov. Adds 50 New Ambulances for CATS
	New Delhi: A fleet of 50 new ambulances was on June 07 Friday added by Delhi government to its Centralized Accident and Trauma Service (CATS) to tackle the problem of shortage of emergency vehicles and ensure pre-hospital medical care to patients, including victims of accidents and sexual crimes. With the induction of the new fleet, the total number of ambulances available with the CATS has gone up to 151. The new ambulances were flagged off by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. 	India: India's State-of-the-Art Air Ambulance
	New Delhi: India’s first state-of-the art Air Ambulance, Flying Doctors India, was launched on June 08 in the national capital. The new aircraft is tailor-made and equipped with a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit on a dedicated chartered aircraft. The goal is to provide critical care even when a patient is in transit. The air ambulance is being run by the same team of doctors who flew the Delhi gang rape victim to Singapore in December and brought back VC Shukla from Chhattisgarh last month. 	India: Indira Gandhi Hospital - a New Super-Specialty Hospital to be set up by the Delhi Gov.
	New Delhi: The Delhi government on June 06 decided to set up a 700-bed super-specialty hospital. It also extended the Delhi Government Employee Health Scheme (DGEHS) facilities for senior resident doctors in the city’s government hospitals. The Indira Gandhi Hospital would be set up in Dwarka, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced after a cabinet meeting. The hospital would provide 24X7 emergency services, maternity services, surgical facilities, special ward block, super-specialty services and teaching facilities.
