India: Emergency Ambulance Service Set to Roll Out


Mumbai: Health minister Suresh Shetty has called for a meeting on September 6 Friday to discuss the health care scheme where an individual who dials the emergency number 108 will be attended by a medical team in a well-equipped ambulance. "The minister has called for a review of the entire project on September 6 Friday. We plan to begin the scheme by this month-end," a senior state official said. Under the scheme, Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS), a total of 937 ambulances across the state will provide pre-hospital emergency services. India: Now, mini ICU-like Ambulances to Serve Patients


BHOPAL: In a major initiative to improve health scenario of Madhya Pradesh, chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will unveil special ambulances on September 11. These ambulances are set to provide mini ICU-like service to patients. At present, there are only three special ambulances in Madhya Pradesh, which are in private sector. Hyderabad: In India 56,000 pregnant woman die due to complications every year or a shocking one every 10 minutes, according to available statistics. India: 108 Completes 5 Years of Relentless Service


Chennai: Its 5 years of journey completed on September 15. GVK EMRI that operates 108 Ambulance service partnering with Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project saved over 1 lakh lives that were reported critical, across the state. Over all, the service has touched the lives of over 23 lakh people in Tamil Nadu so far.
