Philippines: P45M Emergency Open Soon to Rise in Capiz


Roxas City: A multi-million emergency operation center cum evacuation center will soon be established in Capiz.During the recent joint meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), Provincial Peace and Order Council and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council presided by Governor Antonio Del Rosario, the group unanimously approved more than P4 1.77 million to start the construction of the building.The total budget for the construction of the 3-storey Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) operation center at ESLA, Lanot, and Roxas City reached P45-million.

Philippines: DOH Calabarzon Turns Over 9 Ambulance Units to Rizal Towns


Manila: The Department of Health (DOH)-Calabarzon on 11 July (Wednesday) turned over 9 ambulance units to local government units (LGUs) of Taytay, Binangonan, and Cainta, all in Rizal province.DOH-Calabarzon Regional Director Eduardo Janairo the said ambulances will help transport patients like birthing women and injured persons who need immediate medical attention.

Philippines: MMDA Identifies 5 Field Hospitals, Evacuation Sites in Case of Major Earthquake


Manila: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has released a list of five sites that will serve as evacuation emergency field hospitals in case a major earthquake hits the capital. Based on a division of Metro Manila into four quadrants, the sites are: Veterans Memorial Medical Center and Quezon Memorial Circle for the north quadrant, LRT-2 Santolan Station for the east, Intramuros Golf Course for the west, and Villamor Airbase Golf Course for the south.

Philippines: DOH, PHA to hold mass CPR training on July 16


Manila: The Department of Health (DOH), along with the Philippine Heart Association, will hold a mass cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training on 16 July (Monday),in San Mateo, Rizal as a preparedness and live-saving measure.A similar activity will also be done simultaneously in the various regional offices of DOH to underscore the need to make everyone become familiar on how to properly perform CPR to save lives

Philippines: Korean NGO to sponsor ITLS training for hospital personnel


MEDIPEACE Global Health, a non-government organization based in South Korea, will sponsor the conduct of International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training for the Emergency Room (ER) nurses of Iloilo\'s 12 hospitals.ITLS is a global organization dedicated to preventing death and disability from trauma through education and emergency trauma care. Five ER nurses from each of the 12 hospitals will undergo training for 2 days.
