More than 150,000 people are being deprived of medical service because of acute shortage of doctors, medicines and medical instruments at Lama Upazila Health Complex in Bandarban.Lama Upazila Health Complex has now become a place where people only can get primary treatment as the hospital has no other facilities to provide better service to its patients. Pakistan: Rescue 1122 Begins Process of INSARAG's Accreditation Certification


The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has initiated the process of international urban search and rescue's (INSARAG) accreditation certification. In this regard, a UN OCHA team headed by Ms Annette Hearns on October 26 Saturday visited the Emergency Services Academy for initial assessment. She reviewed the Disaster Response Exercise, which included management, rescue, and search, medical and logistic.  The Urban Search and Rescue Team of Rescue 1122 is headed by Dr Farhan Khalid, Dr Ali Imam Syed, Mohammad Ahsan, Jam Sajjad Hussan, Abrar Hassan, Farhan Mirza, Ali Raza Baig and comprised 60 rescuers that demonstrated the exercise.&n

Punjab: Participants from Sialkot Community Emergency Response Team, Mirpur Water Rescue Team, Gulab Devi Hospital’s Emergency Response Team and Rescue 1122 divisional teams demonstrated their professional skills at the Emergency Services Academy. Pakistan: New Accident and Emergency Block Inauguratedby COAS


Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on November 27 Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed state of the art outdoor patient department, accident, emergency and diagnostics blocks at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), says an ISPR Press release. COAS appreciated all those, involved in construction of high quality hospital blocks in a very short span of time. The construction of new blocks at Military and Combined Military Hospital were envisaged in 2011 and its foundation stone was laid in April 2012. Both these hospital would cater for medical needs of military personal of army and civilian of twin cities.

Pakistan: CPEIC Needs Around 120 Staffers to Run New Emergency Bloc


Multan: Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology (CPEIC) desperately needs at least 120 staffers to run Usman Bloc, a newly built emergency, for facilitating cardiac patients. Medical Superintendent CPEIC, Dr Syed Mukhtar Shah, told APP on December 03 Tuesday that they needed doctors, nurses, paramedics, technicians and ward servants to run the new bloc. Built by donation from philanthropists, 72 staff nurses are required for the new unit as to every bed there should be a nurse to tend a patient, he said, adding that without staff, it was impossible to run the facility.
