: Ambulances Get Right of Way at Traffic Signal


Bangalore: There's some hope for ambulances stuck at traffic signals and gridlocks.  In a first of its kind in the country, Bangalore traffic police are installing software which turns traffic signals from red to green for ambulances and emergency vehicles including fire tenders. : Gradual Heart Attack Pain Means Bigger Treatment Delay


New York: Sudden tightness in your chest? Shooting pain down your left arm? Everyone knows that could be a heart attack. But what if symptoms aren't so sudden? When symptoms come on slowly, heart attack patients are less likely to get to a hospital quickly, according to a study in Dublin, Ireland. "We didn't know that most heart attacks start off with mild and slow symptoms," said Sharon O'Donnell, who led the study at the University of Dublin, Trinity College in Ireland.

: London's Air Ambulance Announces UK's First Undergraduate Degree in Prehospital Medicine


London, UK: The Institute of Pre-Hospital Care at London’s Air Ambulance (The Institute), and Queen Mary University of London’s Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (QMUL) have partnered to create the UK’s first Intercalated BSc degree in Pre-Hospital Medicine.  Prehospital medicine is an innovative and growing field that is now recognised as a sub-specialty by the General Medical Council. Open to eligible medical students in the UK, the course will provide a strong foundation in the science and practical skills required for a successful career in prehospital medicine.

: Dubai Smart Government Automates Ambulance Operations


Dubai: Dubai Smart Government (DSG) has announced that its IT team supervising Government Resources Planning (GRP) systems has completed the application of GRP solutions for the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (Dubai Ambulance). The project automates Dubai Ambulance operations related to purchasing, internal requests, and accounts.  The automation process, which complements the move towards a smart government, now enables medical staff of Dubai Ambulance to send requests from their iPad devices directly to warehouses from any location and transmit notices via e-mail to warehouse storekeepers.  The improved capability suppo

: '108' Ambulances in the District Now Get Vehicle Tracking System


Trichy: The service of the GVK-EMRI '108' ambulances has reached its next level with the installation of automatic vehicle locater transmitter (AVLT) inbuilt with global positioning system (GPS). With the new vehicle tracking system, the free ambulance service is expected to serve the victims even faster. All the 18 vehicles in the district except the neo-natal ambulance have been fixed with the AVLT-GPS.
