Pakistan: Lahore Toy Factory Gutted by Late-Night Fire, Rescue 1122 Spun into Action


Lahore: Reports say a small industrial unit located on Brandreth Road caught fire late in the night. Punjab’s celebrated emergency responder, Rescue 1122, spun into action as soon as it received the distress call. According to officials, 6 fire tenders took part in the operation. No casualties were reported in the incident; however merchandise/machines worth millions went up in smoke. Moreover, contiguous buildings were also evacuated as a safety measure.

Pakistan: Swat to Have Rescue 1122 Service Soon


Swat: Following the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, Commissioner Malakand division has started work to set up Rescue 1122 emergency service in Swat. The commissioner February 10 Monday held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Swat and directed him to select piece of land for acquisition so that the services could be started in Swat district, said a hand out issued here from Commissioner Malakand division Office. Pakistan: Sleepless Surgeons : YDA Seeks Emergency Wards Duty Hours Cut


Lahore: A post-graduate trainee at Mayo Hospital and office member of the Young Doctors’ Association, Dr Salman Kazmi, has written a letter to the Punjab Healthcare Commission in the absence of the current YDA secretary-general to reduce the working hours of house officers and post-graduate students. It states that many doctors he had seen had been sleep-deprived assisting lead surgeons at the emergency operation theater. Dr Faisal Akram* said he had fallen asleep during a surgery. Pakistan: Lahore Airport to Test Emergency Standards


Lahore: A meeting presided by Airport Manager, AlIama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, Syed Aamir Mehboob, held on March 08 Saturday, decided to conduct a Full Scale Airport Emergency Exercise as per International Civil Aviation Organisation Standards on March 11, said spokesman of CAA. The aim of exercise is to test the response of all internal/external agencies as per Crisis Emergency Response Plan (CERP) and test of Fire Fighting Equipment.According to the spokesman, one aircraft will be used for the exercise.
