China: Pingnan Gets Health Emergency Rescue County Status


Pingnan County, Fujian province passed a provincial Health Department analysis, on Aug 2, to become the first demonstration county for health emergency rescue services in the city of Ningde. The Health Dep’t team watched an application video that Pingnan prepared and listened to a related report, then visited its health department, disease control center, hospital, and schools to see whether the emergency aid team and resources are good enough and asked some questions on emergency aid. China: First-aid Training Center Opens in Zhangjiagang


  A first-aid training center by the Red Cross Society Zhangjiagang branch opened to the public in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on September 14, 2013. It is the first of its kind in the city. Training equipment at the new center is more complete than previous temporary training centers. Residents are free to choose training times. Ten trainers gave lectures as well as demonstrated and answered questions on knowledge and skills of first-aid concepts, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and injury treatment. China: Life-Saving Device for Bikers


Faridabad: Engineering students of Manav Rachna College of Engineering (MRCE), Faridabad, have developed a ‘Smart Skull’ and it is a life-saving helmet device for bikers. The device has a crash detection system which is paired with the rider’s smart-phone. In the event of an accident or crash, the device gets activated and through the smart phone automatically makes a call to the victim’s family/relatives and can inform them about the mishap. China: Disaster Response Gets a Helping Hand


China has improved its disaster response by building an emergency supplies network, but disaster relief efforts by the government still struggle to meet people's diverse needs, said a senior official from the country's top disaster relief department. China: China Launches Emergency Response for Typhoon Krosa


Beijing: An emergency warning was issued on November 1 Friday for Typhoon Krosa, one of the strongest recent typhoons, which may hit China's southern coastal regions in the next few days. A fourth-level emergency, the lowest level, was announced by the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, warning local authorities to monitor the typhoon, forecast its movement and ensure the safety of the people. The National Meteorological Center said that Krosa's center was about 900 km east of Hainan Island at 10 a.m. on November 1 Friday and was moving at a speed of 20 km per hour toward Guangdong and Hainan provinces.
