Israel: Israeli Underground Hospital to Open for Emergency


Jerusalem: The 2,000-bed Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital is the largest of its kind in the world, designed to protect the patients of northern Israel in times of war.The underground hospital, attached to Rambam Health Care Campus, will operate as a 3-level parking lot for 1,500 vehicles in peace time. The paramedic, St-Sgt Noga Erez, was given the President’s Award for Excellence by President Shimon Peres at an event held in honour of outstanding soldiers on May 06 Tuesday, Israel’s 66th Independence Day. Israel: Health Ministry not Ready for Big Emergencies, Says Report


More than 7 years after the Second Lebanon War and 22 years after the IDF Home Front Command was established, there is still no comprehensive law that sets down the responsibilities of the various authorities involved in dealing with emergencies, according to a section of the State Comptroller Report on the Health Ministry. Israel: Most advanced' Children's Hospital Opens at Rambam


What Rambam Medical Center calls “the most advanced and sophisticated children’s hospital in the country” opened on June 18 at its Haifa campus. The first 3 stories, meant for urgent care of infants and children, are reinforced against missile attacks. The first unit to be transferred to the new premises was the emergency department, which moved on June 15.
