India: Ambulance Services Curtailed Post Naxal Attack in Bastar


Raipur: The recent Naxal attack on an ambulance carrying CRPF personnel has affected the emergency van services in insurgency-hit Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.  The emergency ambulance services - 108 Sanjeevani and 102 Mahtari express have stopped in some highly sensitive pockets of Bijapur, Dantewada, Sukma and Bastar districts due to security reasons since April 12 Saturday following the attack.  The areas where ambulance operations have been halted are Darbha (Bastar), Kutru, Awapalli (Bijapur), Tongpal, Kuwakonda (Sukma) and others, he said.

India: Community Emergency Response Teams in Goa


Panaji: The state directorate of fire and emergency services plans to raise community emergency response teams in all the village panchayats of Goa with the participation of other stake-holder departments to act quickly to any untoward incidents in their respective jurisdictions. Director of fire and emergency services Ashok Menon said that the department has already commenced a programme on disaster preparedness and fire safety campaign in the village Panchayats starting with Pernem, Sattari and Sanguem taluka. Under this programme, as many as 641 persons from three talukas have been trained.

India: Devotees Throng Jotiba Temple in Kolhapur - Emergency HealthCare Arranged


Kolhapur: Over 1 lakh devotees have already reached the Jotiba temple on April 13 Sunday, a day before the annual yatra begins. India: 15-Point Code for 108 Ambulance Workers


The Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) that runs 108 ambulance service has come out with a 15-point code for ambulance technicians ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 24. As per the code, the employees should not display their identity cards or aprons when they go to vote, should not park ambulances within 100 metres of polling booths and technicians should take the permission of senior officers before allowing anyone to check the vehicle.
