India: Now, CHC, PHC Doctors to Attend Emergencies and Do Post-mortems in UP


Bareilly: With 40% seats for doctors remaining vacant in the medical and health services across state, the director general of health, Sunil Srivastava, has asked all chief medical officers (CMOs) in UP to deploy physicians from the community health centres (CHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs) to attend to emergency cases and post mortem duties.\r\nIn a letter issued to all CMOs and chief medical superintendents (CMS), the DG health ordered that there is no age bar for doctors to attend to emergency cases and post mortem duties. Earlier, a rule stated that doctors above 55 years cannot perform these tasks.

India: Asiea Reviews Procurement of Critical Ambulance Services in JK


Srinagar: Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Housing & Urban Development, and Social Welfare, Ms Asiea Naqash on October 24, convened a meeting of officers to review the procurement and operationalisation of critical Ambulance services in J&K.\r\nIn order to meet the medical emergency services, the Minister was informed that Health department is in process of procuring 21 critical ambulances at cost of over Rs 5 crore. India: The New Trauma Centre Working Wonders in Kargil


Kargil: The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Scheme is working wonders in the border district of Kargil in terms of providing upgraded medical facilities. The establishment of a new trauma centre now allows local residents access to better medical facilities and ensures that patients recovers faster as compared to earlier.\r\n“Our trauma staff is always ready and alert. India: Border Residents Demand more Ambulances, Better Medical Facilities


RS Puara: The border residents of R S Pura on October 25 raised the issue of poor management and availability of health care services including ambulances at RS Pura hospital especially in the wake of ongoing border tension.\r\nSince Pak rangers have been pounding forward villages of  RS Pura Sector on daily basis, the villagers living in this area have appealed to the state government and the police authorities to deploy ambulances and other bullet proof vehicles to evacuate critically injured civilians.

India: State Disaster Response Force Trains Police Personnel


Trichy: The Tamil Nadu Commando Force personnel, who were in the SDRF, have been trained by National Disaster Response Force personnel. Another SDRF team is simultaneously imparting training to the police personnel of the south zone serving in Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari districts. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), comprising personnel of the Tamil Nadu Commando Force of the Tamil Nadu Police, have embarked on a mission to impart training in disaster management to select batch of police personnel serving in the coastal districts of the State.
