China: China Encourages Families to Keep First Aid Kits


Beijing: A press conference was held in Beijing on April 2, 2013, to release information on a campaign to provide families with first aid kits and promote Chinese women’s health.  In attendance were Secretary General of the China Association of Marriage and Family Studies (CAMF) Fan Aiguo, representatives of benefited families, grassroots organizers and more than 30 members of the media.  The campaign, supported by the Development Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), provides families with first aid kits and aims to improve Chinese women’s health by educating women on physical and mental wellbeing.&nbs

China: Pingtan County Hospital Gets Refurbishing, Improved Emergency Centre


Residents will feel more at ease at the recently retrofitted county hospital in Pingtancounty, Southeast China's Fujian province, Pingtan Times reported. The service center and payment center have been moved down from the second floor to the first floor where patients can also register and print lab test reports and discharge abstracts. The emergency room in the center of the lobby has doubled in size and has been equipped with oxygen generators and sputum suction devices.

China: Facing Natural Calamities, Beida (Peking University) People in Action


Beijing:  A Peking University (PKU/Beida) relief team has arrived on April 20 at the quake-hit area 2,000 km away to provide emergency medical aid as the first expert team from the Chinese capital.  “We are much moved as the Peking University Third Hospital (PUTH), in such a short time, has concentrated a team in high spirits and with masterly skills. China: Xiamen Holds Anti-H7N9 Emergency Drill for 1st Time Amid bird Flu Fears


Xiamen Health Bureau has carried out a medical emergency drill in Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 5th May, as part of an effort to better check and optimize the city's emergency plan for H7N9 prevention and control. It was also the first time that Xiamen has held an anti-H7N9 emergency drill since the outbreak of the deadly bird flu in China.  No H7N9 human infection cases have been discovered in the city so far. Patients with suspected H7N9 infection will be transferred to Xiamen No.1 Hospital Xinlin Branch to receive treatment under the consultation of a group of doctors.
