	India is facing a shortfall in emergency medical services (EMS) in urban and rural areas. The ratio of ambulance per person in India is currently 3:1000, said Manish Sacheti, CFO, Ziqitza Healthcare.\r\nThe practice of ambulance outsourcing in India is growing. This sector has a bright future as the outsourcing model proves to be beneficial here for any industry. Most of the corporate houses require dedicated ambulances stationed at their work place to provide immediate medical assistance to their employees during an emergency.

	India: Handwara Gets First Critical Care Ambulance in JK
	Srinagar: In a major relief to people in Kupwara district, a latest critical care ambulance was handed over to the 200-beded hospital in Handwara town which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore.The existing hospital, built in 1984 is lacking space and facilities to accommodate the increasing rush of patients from the district.\r\nOn 28 July, the hospital was given first critical care ambulance which will be fully equipped with latest machinery and technology.

	India: Emergency Center at AIIMS
	Delhi: Emergency patients in AIIMS will get now timely treatment and beds. The AIIMS administration has decided to create an emergency center. On average, 1.5 million emergency patients reach AIIMS annually. Preparations are on for making a separate center for Emergency Department, so that patients get timely and better treatment, said Director Dr. Randeep Guleria.

	India: Now, No ambulance on Hartal Days in Kerala
	Thiruvananthapuram: Associations of Ambulance drivers and technicians have decided not to provide ambulance service on hartal days as their vehicles have come under attack during recent hartals. Ambulances were attacked during the recent hartal in Kollam, Palakkad and Kannur districts.\r\n \"When we are attacked we don\'t get police protection for our vehicle or life,\" said the association members.

	India: UP to have Single Emergency Helpline Number from Next Month
	AGRA: Come September, UP will have a single emergency helpline number (100) to report incidents of crime, fire and health emergencies. Officials said that the government is in the process of integrating the \'UP 100\' service (police response vehicle) with fire (101) and ambulance (108) services. Once integrated, the service will be re-launched next month.
