Philippines: Province Opens P80-M Hospital in Sipalay with Helipad for Emergency Evacuation

Negros Occidental opened its P80-million hospital in Splay City which is expected to further boost the tourism industry in southern Negros. Governor Alfredo Marañon led local officials in the opening of the Merceditas Montilla District hospital on Monday December 16. The donor of the 2 hectare lot, Merceditas Montilla, was also present. The hospital can also accommodate residents of nearby Bayawan, Negros Oriental, the governor said. Philippines: Hospitals in Region 12 on 'white alert' for Holiday Season for Emergency Response

General Santos: The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 12 and all government and private hospitals in the region will be on code white alert beginning December 21 Saturday in connection with the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. Philippines: Code White Alert Up in Zambo Hospitals

Zamboanga: Three public hospitals in Zamboanga City had been placed by the Department of Health (DOH) on code white alert in time for the Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve revelry, a health official reported December 23 Monday. Placed on code white alert are the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), Labuan Public Hospital (LPH), and the Mindanao Central Sanitarium.The ZCMC is located in Sta. Catalina; LPH is in the village of Labuan; and the Mindanao Central Sanitarium is located in Pasobolong. Philippines: City Gov't Establishes Sub-Station for Quick Emergency Response

Cauayan City: The city government of Cauayan has constructed a sub-station of its Rescue unit to better respond to emergencies in the city. The sub-station is erected at Pasalubong center at the Maharlika highway near the city’s central business district. Ronald Viloria, Rescue 922 head, said the Rescue 922 sub-station was seen by the city government as a measure to better respond to the call of emergencies be it by natural or man-made calamities. Philippines: Legazpi Acquires New Fire-Truck, a Boost in Fire-Fighting and Emergencies Operation

Legazpi City: The headquarters of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in this city has acquired one unit brand new fire truck from the national headquarters seen to give a boost to the local bureau’s operations in fire fighting and emergencies. The national government, through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), bought the fire truck from Austria and provided for city government in response to the request of Rosal from DILG Secretary Mar Roxas last year.  The new fire truck cost some P17.5 million, fully air conditioned and has a capacity of 1,000 gallons of water  with a 15 fire hoses extending up to 50
