Qatar: HGH Enhances its Trauma Services with New State-of-the-Art Equipment


Doha: At Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), we are continuously improving all of our hospitals and facilities to ensure that we provide the safest, most effective and compassionate care to our patients.As part of this on-going program to improve our services, on Friday 13 March, 2015, Hamad General Hospital (HGH) will be preparing to install the latest, most advanced diagnostic equipment with 2 new CT scanners, 1 in its emergency department and the other in its clinical imaging department. Having this equipment available in the emergency department will strengthen the hospital\'s ability to quickly diagnose and treat trauma patients.

Qatar: PM Launches Emergency Call Service (Aunek)


Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani launched the Emergency Call Service (Aunek) presented by the Technical Affairs of National Command Centre (NCC) at the Ministry of Interior. The service aims to provide assistance to the elderly, people with special needs and those with chronic diseases in emergency situations through the use of a special device equipped with high-tech features. Through the service people who cannot use the emergency contact number (999) can use the device and data can be identified with location by the use of Najm service connected with NCC.

Qatar: Device to Help Emergency Vehicle Cross the Signals


Doha: A new electronic system has been implemented at intersections across the city that allows emergency vehicles to pass through easily by turning the traffic lights green.The Emergency Vehicle Pre-Emption System (EVPS) has already been activated at 30 intersections in different areas of the city in the first phase of the initiative. Fifteen ambulances and 10 civil defence vehicles are equipped with remote controller devices that can control traffic lights.In the second phase of the project, the smart system will be installed at 50 more intersections, said Aziz Al Sada, Head of Safety Operations and Traffic Control in the Roads Maintenance
