Voluntary Force for Emergency on the Anvil
Bhubaneswar: With a view to initiate immediate medical interventions during disasters or disease outbreaks, the State Health Department is mulling creation of a voluntary force of Fast Responders at the village-level, who could be activated during emergencies. Plan is to train and position 2 local youths as Fast Responders in every village for monitoring, surveillance and primary medical intervention during emergency or disaster situations. They would be provided with first aid kits and disease control equipment, including medications, during outbreaks so that they can provide prompt care to the affected people in their community.
