Malaysia 100 Medical Teams in 2 States to Treat Flood Victims

Chukai: The Health Ministry has dispatched about 100 forward medical teams (FMT) to Terengganu and Pahang to provide treatment to flood victims.

Made up of doctors, nurses, medical assistants, health department’s volunteers, Armed Forces' Medical Corps and non-government organisations, the FMTs have been working round the clock since floods struck the east coast last week.

Pahang Health Department director Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said it had deployed 67 mobile and static FMT teams, each comprising 2 doctors, a nurse and a medical assistant, in the 11 affected districts in the state.
