Cebu City: Three teams from Gift of the Givers, a South African foundation, and the 161st Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) Squadron have brought badly needed medical services to three barangays in Palompon, Leyte, and last week. The three barangays reached were Tabunok, Taberna and San Miguel.
The teams, composed of doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians and paramedics, arrived in Palompon on November 19 after a nearly six-hour sea voyage using a local ferry. The group was welcomed into Palompon by Mayor Ramon Oñate. |
